Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap

If you’re going to start making homemade cleaning products you’ll soon have this gem in your arsenal of supplies. Good news! one bottle will last you till the cows come home!

Effective for making floor cleaner, foaming hand soap, body wash, baby wipes and more, this soap might be your first “all natural” purchase. My personal favorite is the almond scent, but for those with sensitive skin, the “unscented” is safe enough to use for baby. Comes in Almond, Citrus Orange, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rose, Tea Tree, and Unscented.

Biokleen Dishwasher Detergent

Scoring an “A+” with this powder is mighty and gets dishes clean using only a teaspoon per load!

Powder detergents have more scrubbing power than their liquid counterparts and don’t cause build up inside your dishwasher. For an added bonus, add three drops lemon essential oil for extra shiny, streak-free dishes.

Cut down on waste and eliminate chemical residue on your clothing from dryer sheets. Our family has saved more than 4x’s the amount we would have spent on dryer sheets in just a year and a half.

Having a baby? Consider saving yourself over $2500 in disposables and invest in cloth diapers (we bought a car with our savings!). We have used and love many brands, but gDiapers have been the overall victor. Adorable, not too poofy, and super absorbent, these fit snugly and get the job done.

Pair with these bamboo inserts and you’ll have a happy baby and a happy mommy, knowing you’re protecting baby from chemicals and chlorine found in many commercial disposable diaper brands.

Diaper Inserts

If you cloth diaper, you probably own diaper inserts. It’s handy to have extras on hand, so why not have ones that hide stains, are made from antibacterial charcoal bamboo and are uber absorbent?

These inserts work seamlessly with most cloth diaper brands and fit perfectly in medium-extra large gDiapers (our favorite!). Because they are made from charcoal bamboo they are gentle on baby’s skin and help keep odor and diaper rash at bay.

Babyganics Face, Hand & Baby Wipes

We will still be buying baby wipes long after our children are grown. We use them for EVERYTHING!

Wipes are multi-purpose and work for so many messes, so let’s choose a brand without harmful ingredients. Babyganics score the best on the Environmental Working Group and are soft yet thick enough to keep the “mess” from soaking through.

Babyganics Shampoo & Body Wash

Perfect for the baby, the toddler, the big kids…and the grown ups, too! Safe for eyes and gentle on skin, this soap cleans from head to toe.

Buy the three pack and keep one in each bathroom, plus one in the kitchen for baby’s “sink bath”. Babyganics is free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, fragrances and dyes. Breathe easy knowing you’re getting your family clean and keeping them safe from harmful toxins.

Cast Iron

When properly seasoned, cooking with cast iron is superior to non-stick cookware. Not to mention the extra minerals from iron absorption!

Iron is an essential mineral with seven important roles in the body. A lack of iron (something many Americans suffer from) can lead to iron deficiency anemia. Moreover, it’s always cool when you can pack up your cast iron and cook over the campfire in the great-outdoors.
