So...How's it Goin?

You’re four weeks into your 52 Weeks of Healthy Changes! Way to go! We’re proud of you for sticking with it!

How are your healthy changes going so far? Are you working on getting quality sleep ? Remember, we’re focusing on quality here, make what you’re getting the best it can be (and be honest, if you can add more, then add more). Still not sure how to improve the sleep you’re getting? Sit tight, we’ve got more tips headed your way in this newsletter! 

How about those cooking oils, did you buy any new ones you’re excited about? Do you have questions about cooking with these new oils? Don’t hesitate ask us questions, that’s what the comments section at the bottom of each post is for. And we love hearing from you! Chances are, if you have the question, someone else does too, so do them a favor and be the one to ask!

Have you ordered any essential oils? I’d love to know which one you chose for the month of January and the different ways you’re using it. Need more ideas for how to use your new oils? Let me know which one you bought and I’ll respond with a list of uses! Which oil are you ordering this month? Remember, this “healthy change” keeps going all year with one new oil each month (I’ll do my best to remind you). This month I’m reordering Immune Aid since ours just ran out (the hubs loves diffusing this at night) and my new oil for February is the Kid Synergy Growing Pains. My older two kiddos sometimes complain of growing pains in their legs at night, so I’ll mix this in a roller-ball bottle and they can keep it by their bed at night to apply if needed. Did you know Plant Therapy will send you a $10 gift certificate for signing up for their newsletter? You have to spend a minimum of $25, but this is still a great way to get some free oils! Give them a like on Facebook to keep up on all their latest deals!

And don’t think I’ve forgotten about the running list of products. Be sure it’s handy, chances are there are still products missing from the list (we JUST realized Jason was still using a hair product rated a 6 on the EWG website...oops! Just got the new one, rated a 1!). There may be products in your home you only use every month or two, so keep adding to the list as these pop up!

Beautiful Redesign for Recipe Posts

From day one we have been looking for a better way to present our recipes. Every recipe has a story and a basic blog post simply falls short in telling that story! A few months back I noticed that a surf website I follow rolled out a new full screen design for their monthly "Photo" feature...my jaw dropped! I could practically feel the salt water in my face as I clicked through the images of waves.

Well, it took awhile but I finally found the design tool that they were using and signed Full of Days up! We tested it out on the "Butter Cookies" feature and we are very happy with the results (So is our lil' chef!). Still a bit of a learning curve but this layout brings life to the feature and we are excited to develop it.  


Hopefully this will inspire you to try out a recipe and create some great stories of your own!

"After reading this I looked up several lists of prebiotics. Many of the foods on the list we already consume frequently. While I use garlic and onion in pretty much everything I cook, I thought to myself “How in the world am I going to get my kids to eat RAW garlic and onions?!” Suddenly it came to me: Fresh Homemade Salsa! We...are known for our salsa.

I make a huge bowl and it is gone in just a day or two. We eat it plain, with chips, with egg dishes, with cottage cheese & avocado and on top of Mexican dishes. I am pretty sure that the following recipe would qualify as a probiotic one. Begin by dicing equal parts of tomatoes and onion and put in a glass bowl. Liberally season with sea salt and cracked pepper. Pour apple cider vinegar (with the Mother) in the bowl until the tomatoes/onions are just about covered. Add 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil , fresh crushed garlic-a lot of it and freshly chopped cilantro. Optional add ins: freshly squeezed lime juice, cumin and jalapenos. (In the summer after harvesting our jalapenos I finely dice them, put them in a glass jar, cover them with vinegar and put in the fridge. They will stay crispy in the refrigerator for up to a year.)"
