Our apologies on not getting this newsletter to you yesterday. Our only excuse is that it’s cherry season! We have two, very large cherry trees on our property that beg our complete attention once they’re ripe and ready to pick. Because we don’t spray our trees for bugs/worms, we have a one week window of opportunity to pick them once they’re ripe. After that, the worms show up, and once the worms are there, I’m not eating them! I know, I know...extra protein, yadda yadda...I’ve tried and I can’t.
The good news is we’ve been perfecting our cherry recipes to share with all of you. Dried cherries, canned cherries, cherry jelly, cherry fruit leather...we may even try cherry syrup! Then of course we have to make cherry pie and cherry cobbler. I’m tellin ya’ll, we’ve picked and pitted over ten gallons of cherries this week. I’m close to cherried out and we haven’t even picked the second tree yet. *Deep breaths!
Now on to the newsletter! We’ve got two more Healthy Changes and a fun, light-hearted 1st Generation Dad headed your way today. Grab a cup of tea (hot or iced, weather depending) and come hang out with us for a while! Do be sure to share your thoughts! Maybe even re-visit some of the previous healthy changes and let us know how you’re doing! Share any tips you’ve found helpful, ask any questions, just say hi! We love the feedback and it really helps us out.
That’s all for now...back to picking and pitting cherries!
