good, organic teriyaki sauce is hard to come by, especially one with an ingredients list I’m happy with. When I mentioned to my mom we were going to make homemade beef jerky, she asked if I wanted my dad’s recipe for a teriyaki marinade. Of course I did! Within this marinade recipe was a recipe for homemade teriyaki sauce. This is now a staple item in our fridge as it makes those leftover chicken and rice bowls so much better with this yummy sauce drizzled on top.

Ingredients

1 cup Coconut Aminos
1 cup Brown Sugar
(Make your own!)
4 Tbs. Cooking Sherry
1/2 cup Avocado Oil
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1/2- 1 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger

Making teriyaki bowls this week! Do you think I can sub coconut sugar for brown sugar?

Absolutely! The other flavors are so strong, the type of sugar you use isn’t as important (flavor wise). I think I even used honey once! Whatever you have on hand should work. I may even try stevia sometime! Mmmm, we had Teriyaki Bowls last week! So yummy!
