he Environmental Working Group is a great resource if you’re looking to replace your conventional household products with “clean” alternatives. They rate products based on the individual ingredients and score them from “1-10” or “A-F” (“1” and “A” being the best, “10” and “F” the most harmful).

We’ll do our best to recommend products we love…and use, but, let’s be honest, products are not a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. We all have different good preferences, different cleaning needs, different skin/hair types…we’re not all gonna love the same products!

My hope is that you’ll research the products you and your family use on a regular basis. Most household/cleaning/beauty products have a “clean” alternative, and can be found on this website.

Today, make a list of the products you use regularly (shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, cleaning spray, deodorant, makeup, etc.) and plug them into the search tool on ewg.org. For my family, we stay away from products above a “3” and below a “B”, and eventually, my hope is for all our products to be a “1” and an “A”.

The Environmental Working Group also offers a “Rate Your Plate” page where they have scored over 80,000 food items. If you’re looking to rid your life of harmful ingredients and make steps toward a healthier lifestyle, sign up to receive our twice-monthly newsletters.
