etting healthy, it’s something most of us want to do, but so many of us struggle in the doing. Over the past 40 weeks we’ve incorporated one new Healthy Change into our lives. Some have been easier to grasp and apply, while others have taken more intention and thought (and some were just downright HARD).
When getting healthy, it’s imperative we each take an individual approach. Gazing at the progress and victories of others will only paralyze our own efforts. Glancing in appreciation, or asking advice to gain wisdom, are great, but don’t allow it to negate your own efforts. Keep tabs, don’t keep score!
Discouragement comes easily when attempting to apply new healthy habits into our daily lives. It’s easy to look at others’ progress and feel discouraged about your own (or lack thereof). The thing is, we’ve all been there, we all have our very own starting point. So flip that discouragement around, realize we’re all unique (bodies and history), and what we discover on this journey will be different for each of us. What works like a charm for some may not benefit you in the slightest, but be encouraged with even the tiniest improvements.
And Don’t Give Up!
If you started 2016 with us on our 52 Healthy Changes journey, but got lost somewhere during the year, go back to where you left off and keep moving forward. If 52 changes is just too many for one year, here’s a recap of some of the most important changes we’ve discussed so far (in my opinion). Do what you can, when you can. Remember, even itty-bitty steps forward eventually add up to great distances!
